It is caused by spirochete bacteria, which are transferred from infected species of wildlife to human through a tick bite. There are more than 100 000 cases of Lyme infection being recorded every year worldwide (Wilson & Smith, 2009). In America, Lyme is prevalent in the Midwest, Oregon and New England. The disease is more prevalent to most Northern Europe countries with the highest infection rate in Sweden, Slovenia and Austria. In Asia, the Lyme disease is prevalent in parts of China, Japan and Russia. Symptoms of Lyme infection usually appear within the first or two weeks after a tick bite. Most patients show erythema migraines rash, which has been reported as a lesion (Collins, Gotoff & Ghanem, 2017). Several erythema lesions may appear in up to 20 percent of patients bitten by an infected tick. Associated symptoms include malaise, chills, fatigue, headache and myalgia. In later stages, the untreated Lyme may manifest in extra-cutaneous points like joints, cardiovascular system and nervous system. Treatment of Lyme infection usually involves antibiotics.
