This can be caused by various factors including educational background and ethnicity. Economic and social inequality has several negative effects on the development of a child. This can include access to education, healthcare services, and other social amenities such as talent development programs. Economic and social inequality has been a major problem in America. As such, there is a need to analyze the negative effects of economic and social inequality on the development of children in America. Discussion To begin with, economic and social inequality leads to poverty in a society which affects children directly and indirectly. Inequality has a direct effect on growth which in turn affects poverty (Naschold, 2002). This affects the children from the marginalized communities leading to childhood poverty. In this case, childhood poverty means children who experience poverty.
