Clinical Question
The topic under discussion in this assignment is nurse burnout during pandemics. This
paper will borrow information heavily on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic while also drawing
parallels with the SARS and the H1N1 pandemics. Nurse burnout occurs when nurses work for
extensive hours without taking breaks, evidenced by reduced productivity at work and fatigue.
Different researchers have extensively researched the risk factors and impacts of nurse burnout
on the healthcare sector, patient outcome, and nurses' health. According to Galanis et al. (2021),
the major risk factors increasing nurse burnout include reduced social support, younger age, and
reduced workforce in the healthcare institutions. One of the significant impacts of nurse burnout
