Some of these people have migrated from India to other countries. The population of the Indian people consists of about 17% of the world's population (Purnell, 2012). The Indian people have diverse cultural practices. Their cultural beliefs are influenced by their faith in the ancient gods (Ramakrishnan, Karimah, et al., 2015). Therefore, they have a firm belief in traditional health care practices. This influences the delivery of modern medicine to the people. Indians seek spiritual intervention first in case they fall ill, then they opt for traditional healers, and eventually the modern treatment. According to their beliefs, health is connected to the body, mind, and spirit (Ramakrishnan, Karimah, et al., 2015). Cases of mental illness are hidden from the public, and they are considered physical fatigue. Patients with such illnesses visit the customary healers for a cure. Pain and suffering are accepted as punishment for past sins or evil actions. Therefore, in such cases, affected people do not seek proper health care.
