Running head: CHILD OBSERVATION PROJECT Child Observation Project Institutional Affiliation Date 1 CHILD OBSERVATION PROJECT 2 Introduction As children grow, they usually go through a lot of changes. The development they go through is either in terms of the cognitive, physical/motor and social/emotional abilities. In this paper, the focus is on the cognitive ability among kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years, that is kids in kindergarten 2 and grade 5. At 5 years of age, some of the cognitive behaviors that usually take place include, development in terms of curiosity, inquisitivity and the ability to carry out conversations. At this age, a child can express themselves better and take part in activities such as singing, rhyming and making up words. At 10 years, a child is able to make use of good judgment, take part in sporting activities and pop culture, and have an improved attention span (Morin, 2018). Method Participants The participants to be observed in this case include kids in a kindergarten class, using 10 of them. They would sit in a classroom and take up some activities, which will bring out their cognitive abilities. The same will be done for 10-year-olds who will as well be observed both in an enclosed set up and in a sporting field.
