The book was quite interesting, I learnt more about emotional disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Moreover, I got to understand the general perception and need for special education to students that have various special needs. The course material also provided me with insights and questions to do further research and investigation on strategies and solutions that are workable when dealing with children that have special needs. The text for the course has a great introduction on what the reader is expected to learn throughout the term. For instance, the introductory text talks about how special education is combining the values and principles with techniques used in the classroom to ensure there is an inclusion of all students with the supplementary services that support children with special needs. In addition, the book talks about the community, students and their families and how non-discriminatory policies are set aside to ensure that every child is treated equally.
