One of them is referred to as a priori judgment. Priori judgments are those that can be made without considering any external influence. For example, someone can say that a square has four sides or that a bachelor is an unmarried man. All these are factual statements in themselves, and there is no reliance on any external influence to make the judgment. Kant's priori is contrary to Hume's skepticism. Hume says that even when making judgments about past experience, there is always some element of doubt in the decisions. However, Kant's priori judgments do not involve any element of the doubt since the judgment is in the self of the object, rather than on the individual making the judgments (Melchert, 2014). Unlike Hume who has doubts on judgments based on past experiences, Kant's priori does not have doubts. According to Kant, there is a connection between Goodwill and duty. According to Kant, an act that is founded on goodwill is an action that is borne out of a moral obligation or duty.
