Build a Shared Vision

In Mud Bay's shared vision, pets and their owners are meant to live in a better world. Having a

clear and unified vision fosters a sense of purpose and unity within the company (Rothwell et al.,

2015). It is important to reinforce this vision at all levels of the organization throughout the

organization to ensure its consistency. It is important to hold regular vision-alignment meetings

and interactive workshops to maintain relevance of the company vision (Rothwell et al., 2015).

Systems Thinking

Through applying systems thinking, Mud Bay recognizes the interdependence between

employees, customers, and suppliers of the organization. Changing one aspect of the system

affects the entire system. A system thinking approach to Mud Bay's decision making could be

enhanced by more sophisticated data analytics capabilities. By doing so, they would be able to

make more informed decisions and plan more effectively.

Mental Models

Mud Bay has a strong belief in employee empowerment and customer-centric customer service.

The company prioritizes employee well-being and customer satisfaction over short-term profits

(Ton & Bach, 2022). Through feedback loops, Mud Bay can work to continually update its

mental models by incorporating employees' insights and suggestions (Ton & Bach, 2022). As a

result, their operational strategies can be adapted constantly.
