Running head: CROSS-INDUSTRY STANDARD PROCESS FOR DATA MINING (CRISPDM) 1 Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation CROSS-INDUSTRY STANDARD PROCESS FOR DATA MINING (CRISP-DM) 2 Abstract The CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) is a general data mining process that has advanced the way data mining projects are carried out. There six major steps that are used to describe the methodology of the CRISP-DM. Due to the large amount of data that is collected and needed analysis, it is important to introduce CRISP-MD to help the data mining process. Therefore, in this study, we will highlight the use of general data mining process, i.e., CRISP-DM and report on the model works. For this study, we will give a literature review of CRISP-DM methodology to show how it can be used as standard data mining model. The objective of the project was to introduce CRISP-DM as reliable and effective data mining that can be used to decrease workload associated with data interpretation and analysis. Based on different tests that have been conducted CRISP-DM methodology which has unique generic and specialized process models offers a better way to mine data. The specialized CRISP-DM process model can fetch more data, help in planning, communication as well as storage. Thus, the specialized process model gives practical advice for the steps involved in the data mining process. CROSS-INDUSTRY STANDARD PROCESS FOR DAT ...
