TECHNOLOGY 2
Technology
Technological change has taken a new phase in the past few years. The process involves
the innovation, diffusion, and invention of processes that replace the traditional ways of carrying
out things. The development also includes the commercialization of these processes, which
enhance research and development. Technological diffusion involves the spread of technology in
society, replacing the older versions that are deemed unsuccessful (Kumar, 2016). The adoption
of such changes is significant as people are interested in changing how the world operates. The
spread of technology in society has raised several issues affecting various educational lenses.
Recently, deep fakes have developed, affecting the lens of history, humanities, natural and
applied sciences, and social sciences.
Deepfakes involves the art of manipulating the existing image or video to someone else's
likeness. The act further involves faking content in the video or a photo. Ultimately, the process
incorporates high levels of artificial intelligence and machine learning that allow a person to
generate audiovisual content that has a great potential to deceive a person. The machine method
used in the process includes public adversarial networks or auto encoders to generate neural
network architectures. Scholars developed the deep fake technique in the early 1990s, which was
applied to motion pictures and later to digital videos (Koopman et al., 2018). Scholars used the
process, but later the online armatures joined, and recently, the industries have begun applying
the technique.
The technological issue of deep fakes has had a significant impact on the educational lens
of history. The discipline of history allows individuals to achieve a better understanding of past
events. It includes six significant lenses: historical significance, the continuity and change of
events, evidence to interpret the past occurrences, the consequences of these events, the historical
