An electronic health record (EHR) refers to a digital form of patients’ manual chart. Essentially, EHRs are patient-focused records that make data accessible promptly and safely to authorized personnel. EHR systems are created to storeinformation correctly and to document the condition of patients across time. Therefore, one of the characteristics of an effective EHR system is the effective documentation and image management. This characteristic revolves around the doctors’ abilities to upload documents, monitor them online, and retrieve them whenever needed.Unlike the traditional paper chart, the electronic health records eradicate the need to monitor patients’ former manual medical records and help in warranting that patients’ information is precise and readable. From this operational need, EHR systems have system complexity. By system complexity, Alghamdi, Alomari, Althubaiti, & Aziz (2017) explain that the system is capable of performing several tasks involved in the manual documentation and monitoring of the documents at ease. Additionally, system interoperability is yet another characteristic. Alghamdi et al.
