She first felt the pain on her back as she was doing her laundry work and the pain had lasted for 14 days. Besides the pain, she was also vomiting on several occasions daily for the last 7 days to the time she came to the clinic. She looked tired and in severe pain, and her BIM reading was 22kgs/m2. Her pulse rate measurement was 88/min and blood pressure measurement was 20/72. When I referred her for diagnosis, tests revealed that she was suffering from acute pancreatitis. Since the patient acted very late, her case can develop into a chronic pancreatitis management. As noted by Newson (2017), acute pancreatitis should be attended to before two weeks, from the time the first symptoms are seen, otherwise, it will most likely develop into chronic pancreatitis.
