In Qualitative research, scholars gather non-numerical information through questionnaires, interviews and observations. After gathering information through methods, the final analysis aids the researchers in understanding human behavior. For instance, in grounded theory methodologies, the scholars do not understand the phenomenon. Therefore, they gather and analyze information in the hope of developing a theory or explanation for their observation. Similarly, phenomenology is concerned with the study of people’s experiences. Therefore, it does not begin with a hypothesis but could result in the development of a theory. On the other hand, scholars may begin with a hypothesis which they may prove or disprove after data analysis. In this context, I will review two qualitative research articles: A qualitative phenomenological exploration of teachers' experience with nutrition education and Qualitative thematic analysis of the phenomenology of near-death experiences whose authors Hall, Chai, & Albrecht (2016) and Van den Berg, Verberg, Berkhout, Lombarts, Scherpbier, and Jaarsma, (2015) used grounded theory and phenomenology techniques respectively to analyze data.
