DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 2
Part 1 Questions
What is your reaction and learning about the "Serve and return"; concept? Be specific.
Serve and return concept takes two to play; for instance, a child and an adult. The
relationship between the two is attentive and responsive, with numerous back and forth
interactions. Since it is playful, responsive to the child's needs, and supportive of what they want,
it helps build a foundation for their behavior and learning. Facial expressions and sounds that
encourage them, such as nodding and smiling, show that you notice them and acknowledge their
