MGMT 601: Assignment #3 Business Report: Cross-Cultural Differences in Leadership
Executive Summary
The cultural competence that you need to succeed at work includes being able to relate to and
work with individuals from other cultures and those of varying social and economic statuses. It
gauges your capacity to work productively with individuals who aren't fluent in your language
and those who celebrate other holidays, do not share your views, and lead different lifestyles
than you. Being culturally competent is more critical than ever in today's work environment.
Cultural competence not only helps you be successful, but it is also essential to your company's
success.
Even though several companies now provide cultural awareness classes, cultural competency
cannot be taught. Cultural competency instead asks you to investigate your ideas and emotions to
improve your cross-cultural abilities in your profession and company.
The paper will look at the cultural differences at Amazon, mainly how it affects the world,
especially in the big industries. A variety of individuals from a range of backgrounds and
cultures utilize diverse communication methods. I suspect you like to be direct. Despite this, a
colleague may adopt a roundabout approach and convey what has to be stated more slowly. If
you want to avoid angering or upsetting your coworkers, or if you wish to communicate with
them effectively, you need to understand better how communication style is influenced by
culture and how you may compensate for such differences.

Introduction
Cross-cultural communication affects different companies across the United States in different
ways. Over the board, it has been seen that it affects the overall performance of companies, with
many companies having to set up uniform work practices to ensure efficiency and productivity in

including books, music, and movies; housewares; electronics; toys; and various other items,
either directly to consumers or as an intermediary between other merchants and Amazon.com's
millions of customers. A significant part of its Web services business is providing data storage
and computing capabilities over the internet, a practice known as cloud computing. Amazon.com
has such a significant online presence that, in 2012, one percent of all Internet traffic in North
America passed through or out of Amazon.com data centers. When it comes to organizations,
corporate culture is a mix of widely held institutional ideas, values, and the guiding philosophy
that is often expressed in the organization's vision statement, mission statement, and values
statement. Individuals inside an organization frequently have a different perspective on their
organization than they do on their country. Individuals' positions within the organization's
hierarchy are often reflected in their differing points of view. Consequently, executives often
have divergent opinions regarding their company's culture compared to individuals at lower
levels in the business. Keeping abreast of how different points of view vary is an essential
element of every leader's job description.
The personal and learning environment influences the beliefs and behaviors we develop and
share with others. Leaders should consider their professional responsibility and how it benefits
their career to improve intercultural understanding and strengthen their abilities. Multi-cultural
