Manhattan Government Project
For this report, I consider the Manhattan government project. During World War II, the
U.S. government collaborated the industrial and scientific elements to do a project named the
Manhattan Project. The project received some funding and support from the United Kingdom
and Canada as well. The project was basically about research and weapon production (Gale,
2020). The employees who undertook the project, the management team, and the U.S.
government, are considered the primary stakeholders of the project Manhattan. The project
was an internal project for the U.S. government that was preparing for war plus the project
was not profit-oriented. Some of the resources used for the project include the total funding
of $2 billion, more than half a million employees and researchers, secluded fields for training
the soldiers, and other production factories for materials necessary for building the bombs
(Gale, 2020).
The primary expectation of any of the stakeholders was to build an effective weapon to
defend their country. Otherwise, employees expected an income from the employment, and
management aimed to deliver the exact product the U.S. government under President
Roosevelt needed. The U.S. government expected to defend its people and remain a
superpower by hitting the enemy with the developed bomb. Before the official
communication and commencing of the Manhattan Project, several pieces of research were
conducted across different universities. Therefore, the alternative approach to this project
would be agile since the research was one of the highest-value and high-risk parts that had to
be delivered first (Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). Another alternative approach is the system
approach since the project kept updating continuously as things change.
The project applied the program management approach, which involves various
projects that sums up to one at the end of it all (Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). The final
project, which is bomb developed, included several other projects. The projects included
