What patterns did you find? Are they consistent with redlining? At the inception of redlining, lots in Mission Hill were classified as having high residential security or nonhazardous. The houses were mostly high class and formed the most desirable sites in the whole area. There were also large two-story stucco homes with their beach and boating facilities at the doorstep. It was inhabited by high-salaried individuals. There were also traces of smaller houses occupied by the low-salaried people and the fishermen in the bay area. The area was also less colonized by a variety of races. How was the area described materially ('well maintained', 'conveniences', 'desirable', etc)? The area remains of high value. Surprisingly though, the educational attainment level is low with only 27.68% of the residents holding a bachelor’s degree or higher (Social Explorer. (n.d.). Race and ethnicity are also largely undifferentiated just like in the past. Currently, 55.78% are white, 3.46% black, 1.02% AIAN, 4.53% Asian, 32.98 Hispanic, and 2.24% Two+ (Social Explorer. (n.d.).
