The government attempts to reduce drug use has been effective in that they have made drugs scarcer and more expensive. This tactic has made drug habits unaffordable and eventually, the drug use is slowly subsiding. The success of legislative attempts has been facilitated by its ability to work with local and state departments. They have been issued with specialized equipment, funds, and legal flexibility to enable a crackdown on the drugs.
