Subject: Diplomatic Critiques of the Article, Management Strategies for Small Companies
The article, Management strategies for small companies, was written in 1976 by Herbert N.
Woodward, the chairman of Intermatic incorporated company. Inappropriate patterns of
conducting business organizations lead to dreadful destructions. That prompted Woodward to
write a review article that addresses suitable strategies small corporations can incorporate to
enhance their survival. Even though experts in business management agrees with his ideas, the
format and patterns he implemented to illustrate his notions perhaps need a little revision to
make his facts pass on substantively.
Woodward suggests that management inadequacies are the primary downfall of several
companies. That statement is true, but the paragraph that he addresses that prime cause of
corporations' decline perhaps requires intense clarification. Business managers understand that
lacking adequate management skills is detrimental. However, companies face hard times
regardless of existing managerial experts. That is because they consider themselves experts but
just in some sectors, ignoring the integral aspects. Therefore, when Woodward was addressing
managerial strategies, maybe it would have been better to clarify specific managerial deficiencies
that led to the ultimate downfall of companies.
