I would say that as a society, there is need to seperate civil wrongs from criminal wrongs because
both have different consequences and rulings. The aspect of seperation is important to avoid
uncertainity. A victim of contract breach will want to be compensated for loss incurred under
civil liability while when we apply the criminal liability, the victim will file a criminal complaint

face jail. It should be noted that a wrongdoer maybe liable for both wrongs in cases involving
rape. The person who committed the rape is obligated in civil liability to compensate the
offended person for medical bills and emotional stress. However, under the criminal liability, the
defendant is prosecuted and if found guilty will be sentenced to jail.
