Identify the app by providing the name and a URL to the app.
The app that I have chosen is called Facebook Messenger and it can be downloaded on
both android and iOS.

Discuss how multiple fragments are combined in one single activity for building a multi-
pane user interface in the app.
As an application developer, it is vital that one should take multiple screen sizes and
orientations into account. This is because there are devices in the market that are bigger than
others; many devices are narrower while some devices opt to be wider in screen size. Therefore,
application developers have to carefully develop apps that take popular screen sizes into account.
Fragments are commonly used to overcome this particular problem. According to McCown
(2018), fragments are design elements that "control parts of a UI on behalf of an activity." In
laymen terms, fragments manage and modify the view of the application based on the screen size
of the device on which the application is being used.
To elaborate further on this problem, a perfect example of fragments can be observed in
the below screenshot of the Facebook Messenger which was taken on an iPad and an iPhone.
