Project Description (LA)
Husky Air, located at the Dekalb Taylor Municipal Airport, is a fixed base operator (FBO) facility that offers private
and business aviation services. In addition, Husky Air liaises with a non for profit known as Pilot Angels. Private
pilots volunteer their time and aircraft to transport patients in instant need of medical treatment as well as organ
donors across the country. Pilot Angels currently uses a paper-based tracking system to keep track of current
scheduling of transportation requests. The current method is time consuming and highly inefficient. Husky Air’s
request for a computer-based system will boost efficacy by matching volunteer pilots with the right patients in no
time. It will also ensure that the pilot and patients’ information is secure and accurate.

Alternatives (TA, IA)
Alternative 1: Status Quo Maintain Status Quo.
- Advantages: No extra costs such as equipment, software licenses, hardware costs, and maintenance costs,
and would not require staff training.
- Disadvantages: Inefficient use of time and resources, inaccuracy of records, lack of coordination within
business, does not allow for secure storage of pilot and patient information.
Alternative 2: Purchase software
PrimaSoft Organizer Deluxe Series is an effective and easy-to-use database system on Windows that gives users
the ability to manage personal and business data. This deluxe package comprises of about 100 ready-to-use
database solutions with over 200 database templates. Organizer Deluxe Series enables its users to enter, manage,
organize, and process business contacts, business addresses, business expenses, project costs, project budget
planners, company personnel, business expenses, and many more. Using this program will cost Husky Air $2,514
monthly, bringing the annual expenditure to $30,168.
Alternative 3: A custom system
We could create a custom system that would meet the needs of Husky Air. When we develop a custom system, we
tailor it to meet Husky Air’s precise and personalized needs. Some benefits of creating a custom system are its easy
usability, inbuilt custom features, personalization, increased productivity, and longtime support. On the downside,
