In many circumstances, there is a need for a person to make a decision. The general rule in psychology is that for individuals to make decisions about changing something, it must currently have more negative impacts compared to the consequences of altering it (McLeod, 2018). One of the situations in my life that caused uncertainties was the choice between starting a new business and solidifying the existing one. My current firm was performing well, but at the same time, there was a need to be cautious of market saturation that could lead to stagnation and even reduced sales. Starting a new business also had the risk of failure due to the challenges related to the diversification strategy. I felt uncertain about the decision to make at this point because both options had their merits as well as demerits.
