However, the politics of identity have contributed significantly to the discrimination of inferior groups like the African American by the Whites. The term politics of personality refers to a situation where people of a particular gender, race, ethnicity or even religion join forces and agree to defend their selfish interests. The politics of identity, therefore, interfere with individual freedom such that their performance is based on the benefits of a particular group. For instance, the whites in America have always discriminated against the blacks despite the fact they have the same blood.
