Medication and system disorder
Syphilis is a bacterial infection that is spread sexually (Choudhri et al., 2018). The illness
develops in stages from a painless sore around the genitals, rectum, and mouth, and the
symptoms vary with every stage. Patients experience a skin rash in the second stage, and later
symptoms disappear to the final stage (Rowe, Newberry & Jnah, 2018). Without medical
attention, patients in the final stage of this condition may experience damage to their vital
organs, including the brain, heart and nerves. Penicillin is a medication that works to kill bacteria
through the binding of the beta-lactam ring to DD-transpeptidase. The medication inhibits a
cross-linking activity and prevents the formation of a new bacterial cell wall. Without the cell
wall, the bacteria are vulnerable to water and molecular pressure and thus cannot survive. At the
initial stages, Syphilis is efficiently treatable (Zhou et al., 2019). Therefore the healthcare system
needs to create awareness and provide the population with critical information on enhancing its
prevention and treatment. Care providers need to educate the clients on aspects that include the
causes and symptoms of Syphilis to ensure that the people are aware and maintain cautious
lifestyles to prevent getting infected or spreading the disease (Verma, 2021).
Additionally, through health promotion programs, it is important to educate the
populations about the complications and risk factors of the condition. Educate the people about
penicillin and the use of antibiotic drugs to ensure individual responsibility through collaboration
with the medical professionals to promote health safety and quality among the community
members. Also, the care providers need to educate the penicillin drug interactions, especially
among breastfeeding mothers, as they could cause severe complications to the babies (Khatony
et al., 2020). The use of penicillin drug in treating Syphilis has a wide range of relations as it
includes educating the clients more about the disease to enhance preventive care. In conclusion,
