What problems are encountered when using the Internet to carry VOIP Traffic?? VoIP has promised to impart quality services (telephony services) using the Internet at the lowest possible cost plus better quality of speech like conventional "Tele-communications". However those promises fail to materialize. At present there are innumerable VoIP-users which include both mammoth-organizations & individuals, who are highly disillusioned & dissatisfied with the quality. Issues related to convergence VoIP is used effectively over the converged IP-networks. In technical terms a converged-network is said to be a network that is able to transmit all sorts of traffic say-video, images, voice & data. Major types of current SP IP-networks are designed to carry out online-data traffic & are geared towards data-applications like web-traffic, e-mails etc. VoIP traffic is timely sensitive in nature as the packets are to be delivered in a set time-frame & the network is then required to facilitate this process with the help of various mechanisms.
