Social work policies are indeed a powerful tool for maintaining proper social
and cultural interactions for members of society. Social work policies play an
essential role in the evaluation of different social structures. Chambers and Bonk
(2013) asserts that in a selection from a wide array of social work policies, one has to
be wary of the policy's goals and the objectives of the program Chambers, D. E., &
Bonk, 2013). The chosen policies have to focus on assisting the welfare of the people
by improving the quality of their lives (Lloyd, Luczak & Lew, 2019). The policies
additionally have both positive and negative connotations regarding the social well-
being of the community. It is essential to understand the different social problems
concerning ethical and legal perspectives in addressing the various social issues. The
report will, as such, analyze the social work program of child abuse and neglect and
aims at promoting social welfare.

Child abuse and neglect is a pertinent issue that most social workers face.
Addressing the issue, it is critical to observe the adherence to different policies
relating to childcare. By reviewing other literature relating to child abuse, it is
apparent that very few policies have been implemented by the government relating to
children. The existing policies focus mainly on prevention. Child abuse and neglect
are considered severe public health problems that can have a long-term impact on
children's well-being and health outcomes. The issue of child abuse encompasses all
the forms of abuse that can be subjected to a child under 18 years, either by the
parent, caregiver, or any other person in the custodial role. In 2019, 674,000 children
