Executive Summary
As a former Navy officer and fighter pilot who is now the controller of a division of
TransGlobal Airlines, I have utilized a fleet of corporate jets for charter at several airports in the
southeast part of the United States. It has come to my attention that the organization has been
considering the acquisition of two smaller aviation firms in the Caribbean specializing in
chartered flights for luxury vacations using light aircraft (60 passengers or less). To acquire and
obtain the acquisition of two smaller aviation firms, we must assess the organizational benefits of
acquiring these aviation firms. Before we can do that, we must evaluate these aviation firms and
the performance of TransGlobal Airlines. After an initial assessment, the company has
shortlisted two airlines, Company A and Company B, to examine further for acquisition. The
CFO has asked me to generate two scenarios for the proposed acquisition based on my analysis
and governing or predictive assumptions.
TransGlobal Airlines is in Miami, Fl with 40,000 employees. It began its operations in 1951
as a small firm and has increased ever since. The class of TransGlobal airlines is global with a
dominant US presence in airlines. TransGlobal airlines is focusing on targeting the global market
to have an impact on the industry. TransGlobal airlines have over 242 destination services more
than 52 countries across six different continents. They have four different market segments
which are first class, luxury, business class, and economy. This year they have a global market
share of 18% and are ranked 2
nd
in the industry following American at 18.6%. Their United
States market share is 18.3% ranked 2
nd
following Southwest at 19.1%. TransGlobal Airline’s
retention rate is one of the highest at 80% of customers returning. Their new customer growth is
27%, prior to COVID, and has 278 billion passenger kilometers. As for their competition, their
