They are among the globe’s ardent consumers of television and this is a cause of concern to parents. The commercials that children see have an effect on their young minds. Their minds are still immature and find it difficult to differentiate between the good forms and bad forms of advertising. Most companies through commercials find them as an ideal target for their products while ignoring the negative effects that they create on them. Advertisements on television targeting children cause a host of ills such as promoting unhealthy food choices, impacting on the type of clothes to wear which brings the topic of sexuality in children created by the media. Others include causing the children to have concerns about their body image, especially among the adolescents. Television commercials have led to children spending more on those products they saw on TV to satisfy their desires. Commercials first saw psychologists get hired to bring their expertise and help on how to attract the children towards a product.
