Without the occurrence of the two wars which occurred between two periods, from 1880 to 1881 and from 1899 to 1902, the hatred which led to World War One would not have existed. The two wars were between the British Empire and the Dutch settlers, and it occurred in what is now known as South Africa. For the British Empire, it was the beginning of the use of the modern power since it had managed to capture civilians and kept them in camps. However, to the Germans, the British Empire was weak, and hence, the Germans offered their support to the Boers and the allies of the Boers (Ferguson, 2008).
