The story revolves around a young woman by the name Madame Mathilde Loisel who was born to a low-class family and eventually got married to Monsieur Loisel a clerk working on the board of education. Mathilde got the looks as well as charms and always wished to be a wealthy person since she was so convinced that her destiny was to be rich and detest her entire life while dreaming of having a fabulous life (De Maupassant, 1969). As a result, one day her husband came home and presented her with an invitation to attend an organized event at the home of Minister of Public Instruction. Contrary she threw the invitation citing that she did not have fancy clothes for such occasions.
