Generally, goals that is specific, measurable, aligned, reachable, and time-bound direct to the
highest levels of performance.
Specific goals direct the employees towards higher performance than "do your best" as a
goal.
Measurable goals are substitute to conceptual or insubstantial goals, and usually
represented in numerical expressions.
Aligned goals are associated with the thorough strategy and priorities of the business for
avoiding clash or efforts that are counterproductive for business.
Reachable goals are tough but accessible because these will fail to stimulate effort if
there is no possibility of success. At last, a Time limit for accomplishment of goals
should also be specified.
Types of Rewards:
Contingent rewards:
According to contingent rewards principle, rewards should be awarded to employees when they
earn them. A basic rule of motivation is to exercise rewards for reinforcing desired behaviors if
they takes place and vice versa.
