Student’s Name Institution of Affiliation Course Date ARTICLE REVIEW 2 Introduction The article, Reasons for entering and leaving nursing: an Australian regional study by Eley, R., Eley, D., & Rogers-Clark, C. (2010) seeks to ascertain the rationale behind the high rate of staff turnover in the nursing profession. It seeks to identify the various factors that have contributed to the high number of nursing professionals who are constantly leaving the professions after a short stay. It provides recommendations on how best to deal with the problem so as to encourage more people to join and remain committed to the nursing profession. Purpose of the Article The purpose of the research conducted in the article was to gain an insight into the reasons for entering and leaving nursing. The research was an Australian regional study that used participants drawn nursing training institutions and those who had already shown interests in the profession (Eley, Eley & Rogers-Clark, 2010). There is need to encourage more students to enroll in the nursing profession and steam up the rising cases of increase in the number of nurses leaving the profession.
