What are some additional ways that a footwear company could contribute to CSR initiatives that are not part of the BSG simulation? How would you balance the benefit with the cost? One shoe company that does this well is Toms Shoes. Before reading the article posted by the professor this week, Toms was the first company that came to mind because it’s well known that for each pair of shoes you buy they donate a pair to a child in need. I have chosen Toms for years over knock-off brands for that reason. Personally, I’d rather pay the extra $10-20 for Toms rather than buying a cheaper pair that won’t result in a donation. After reading the article, I’m even more pleased with Toms, seeing that they are finding new, more helpful ways to donate to children in need.
