Enlightenment led to the production of a revolution in ideas and culture. Revolution in culture and trade tied the people of the Atlantic world together. Political theories led to political revolution; all the transformations that were experienced during this time in politics and economics marked the initiation of the modern world today. In the 18th century, America and Europe formed the part of the world that was connected by the continuous exchange of goods, ideas and people. The Atlantic world was created through the centuries of European migration, slavery trade and commerce. The exchange that existed became even more important in the second half of the 18th century. This paper will explain the most important transformations that happened and shaped the Atlantic world and the role enlightenment thinking played in the revolution of the Atlantic world in the 18th and 19th century. The term enlightenment is broad and general term used to refer to the series of changes in culture and intellect.
