The urge to secure their freedom had increased, and they tried both the non-violent and violent means to attain it. After a long struggle of using the moderate means, they proved ineffective since the British continued imposing acts that disfavored the colonist. This scaled up the tension with various protests and boycotts. What made the thirteen forces of separate colonies to come together, whether it was necessary and what inspired them to fight for independence? The involvement of the Americans in advancing their economy facilitated the urge for a revolution. To gain loyalty from the Americans, the British Empire decided to grant some freedom to the Americans. This was also cultivated by the fact that America was inhabited by individuals who have had the British origin. This set of laws that granted liberty to the Americans was referred to as the salutary neglect. It unofficially lifted the restriction imposed upon them regarding the trade activities.
