Running Head: PROGRAM PLANNING 1 Program overview WeCare is a community centered healthcare program that operates to help communities maneuver HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The program operates in the community grassroots to help foster HIV/AIDS awareness and provides resources to help in the treatment and prevention intervention. In collaboration with other community-focused groups, the program sponsors community initiatives aimed to increase HIV/AIDs awareness in the communities; it also provides voluntary HIV screening and counseling and most importantly the program offers free HIV treatment. With the support of the program sponsors, the program offers free medical checkups, testing and distributes antiretroviral drugs to those infected within the community. It provides community health education to the most HIV affected communities enabling them to understand the disease including the causative effects and the various ways in which the disease can be prevented. Six Components Necessary for Effective Public Health Program Implementation There are six essential components that program planners must address to ensure proper implementation of the program. Community-centered healthcare program is meant to help the vulnerable community members achieve a greater level of health outcome.
