Interview with the Student’s President
Introduction
Recently, I conducted an interview at my college, the University of California, and
interviewed the school president. Jackson Brave. I interviewed him at the student councils
offices that are situated in the Students Business Center. I conducted the interview at 3 o'clock
past midday and communicated in a cordial formal language. We were enthusiastic and sincere
and maintained eye contact. Jackson Brave is the current school president who won the most
recent students elections.
Jackson Brave is goal-oriented, self-motivated, and hardworking and he is always willing
to serve others. He is an active student who generally participates in most school activities and is
a member of many student clubs (Fishkind, 2). He gets good grades and is friendly to everyone
in school. The interview focused on delving into the goals, expectations, responsibilities, and
plans after his term in office. The school president is responsible for the needs, and leading
events of the school in a given school year. He has a clear vision and is courageous in
performing his roles.

Basing on the question on the roles and responsibilities of a school president, I learned of
several duties delegated to an elected school president. The primary duties of the school
president are working with the students to resolve issues, informing the school leaders and
students ‘council body of the complaints and ideas emanating from the school. He is also
expected to conduct the school cabinet meetings and organize all students’ activities and events
(Rembert,1). Jackson stated that he has the duties and powers as the president to oversee that his
association on student affairs is effectively conducted. He leads in organizing student activity
events, fiscal planning, school policy support from students, and mediating between the faculty
and the student body. The roles call for him to be flexible and portray the leadership potentials
for him to efficiently balance and make priorities at school.
The main object of every school president is to provide a vision for the College, and
fulfill the goal by collaborative leadership and aligning to the school vision. A president needs to
build a strong and resilient relationship in the student council body to ensure successful
leadership (Fishkind, 8). Jackson Brave stated that his goal is to ensure that the entire office of
student leaders works together in cooperation with the students to have an impactful year. He
stated that he wants all aspects to progress to the next level and make sure that he empowers all
the students to invest in their academic potential and achieve success. His main aim is to give all
the students an opportunity and a ground where they can share their ideas, hence giving them a
voice and options in alignment with the custom of education following the desires of the school
administration. He stated that for most of the school activities, giving an instance with the Case
Rally, he did his best to incorporate everyone as much as possible which he believed he did the
best.
