Running head: CONFLICT THEORIES 1 Conflict Theories Institutional Affiliation Date 2 CONFLICT THEORIES Marxism, pluralism, and elitism are all theories that are related to power disparity and how it emerges from the different traditions wherein supremacy is measured. Looking at power from a fundamental view, Steven Luke’s identifies three main proportions of power and according to him; each dimension becomes more complicated than the previous dimension. In its view of power, pluralism could be identified as one of the dimensions of its naive version of decision making. On the other hand, superiority could be presented as two dimensional in its view on power as it also includes the consideration of non-decision making. In its similarity to elitist's view, Marxism furthers the idea of elitist by declaring the economic structures within the society which makes sure that some decisions are by no means made, and it is in this way that power could be viewed in a third aspect.
