It has been said that "a company that deserves a union gets one," suggesting that if
proper leadership and motivation techniques are employed and desirable policies devised, the
workers will not want to unionize. Either agree or disagree with this philosophy. Support
your position and explain what a company could do to create an environment where workers

The belief that unions can create a better working condition in the workplace is what
encourages workers to join unions. In most cases, these workers exhibit dissatisfaction in the
way management treats them, and they seek to address this issue through unions. Pay and
salaries are common issues in union organizing tactics. However, employees are willing to
join unions mainly because of the view that the company they are working in is irresponsible,
unfair, or is offering them poor working environment. Most employers are accountable to
union organization and can reduce their employees' desire to be represented by the union
through addressing their dissatisfaction appropriately. A management that ensures a good
relationship with the employees and addresses their concerns appropriately is likely to
discourage workers from joining the unions.
By adopting a strategy that focuses on employees, companies not only eliminate the
necessity of unions but also increase performance and productivity of their workforce. They
can achieve this through ensuring effective communication. Employers should openly tell
their employees what they think the workplace is capable of doing without the unions.
Emphasize on the practices, culture, and policies that are in place and make the workplace a
right place to work and also acknowledge their readiness to hear their complains without a
third party. Employers should let their employees understand their side of the story before
