Explain how you will obtain information required to create a statement of work and
request for proposal, from various department managers, whose areas will be cleaned
by the contractor
In the course of coming up with a suitable plan that can help in the creation of an office
cleaning contract, I would have to comprehensively engage with the managers of the different
departments to make sure that I get the correct information that would help in crafting a good
statement of work as well as a good request for proposal. I would obtain the information required
by requesting the managers of the departments politely through a dialogue which would show
how serious the matter is. In the course of the dialogues or engagements with the various
managers, I would be specific in my request for the information needed by asking the managers
about the suitable times of the day that they feel their departments should be cleaned (Hunter,
2017). Moreover, I would ask for any other recommendations or thoughts that they may have on
how the cleaning in their departments should be done. This should include their views on
whether they would prefer scrubbing, dusting or polishing methods. It would also be essential for
them to indicate some of the water-sensitive areas such as computer labs that would require
caution during the exercise. Finally, I would request the managers to send me their
comprehensive replies through either email or letters to enable me to make a complete statement
of work and a similar request for proposal.

Naturally, such an exercise would necessitate for the presence of a contract between the
two parties. A contract simply refers an agreement that is either written or spoken and is usually
enforceable by the law (Hunter, 2017). Some contracts tend to highlight carefully the duties that
