Part 1
Vacation time is very important to the employees in the organization. The primary factor which
should be considered in determining employee burnout is the output or the measure of
performance. The factors include monotony, no recognition, lack of working tools, long working
hours and being bullied by their bosses. The performance of an employee who has been on a
vacation time of more than 1.4 weeks is compared to a worker who has taken a vacation time of
less than 1.4 weeks. This is the indication of presence of employees burnout in a group of
workers who go on vacation for less than 1.4 weeks each year. The vice president is supposed to
declare team outings, bonuses, and awards in order to maintain the high moral in employees. He
can come up with a policy meant to reward the employees who get vacation time of less than 1.4
weeks. It will lower chances of burnout but not eliminating it.
Part 2
Finding out whether the employees take a vacation time of more than 1.4 weeks.
Therefore, H
0
:µ1.4 and H
A
˃1.4
From the instructions, p is given as 0.0084 whereas t is given as 2.93.
Since p is given as 0.0084, at both the significance levels of 0.01 and 0.05, p = 0.0084 will be
less than both 0.01 and 0.05. Therefore, we will reject H
0
and then support H
A
.
From this, we can conclude that the employees/workers are taking a vacation of more than 1.4
weeks annually.
