The most compelling topics learned in this course were; the rising issues in supply chain

management, from procurement to manufacturing, logistics, and retailing. Supply Chain

Management engages a cycle of activities and procedures that must be accomplished in a

professional and timely manner for products to be accessible by consumers when needed.

The following concepts assisted in understanding the supply chain and logistics process;-

Planning – the process which aims to produce dynamic long and short range of supply chain

tactics, which starts with designing the supply chain arrangements to the calculations of customer

wants. Production – This is the ‘make' practice which entails the manufacturing renovation, or

gathering of resources and equipment into complete merchandise or a fraction for other extra

produce. Usually, managers offer production assistance and guarantee the availability of

essential materials when required. Distribution – another concept which is mainly about

movements of finished products. Transportation makes sure that commodities are moving fast

and securely towards the point where they are required (Werner, 2000).

Yes, this course has given me tangible reflections that I can apply in my life. For

instance, I now understand that the Supply chain activities are not the tasks of only one

individual or a single company. For that cup of coffee to be on the table each morning various

people have to be vigorously involved in numerous different procedures to have it available. The

seven timeless approaches of supply chain management which draw attention to the call for

supply chain managers to concentrate on the customer could yield valuable information.
