Introduction
Generally, there are two ways of connecting circuits, series and parallel connection. If resistors
are connected so that there is only one conducting path across the network as shown in figure
15.1 they are termed to be in series connection. In case we have more than one conducting path
as shown in figure 15.2 we will have a parallel connection.
In series connection, the current is same in all resistors as shown.
Voltage across the network of series-connected is equal to the sum of voltages across individual
resistors.
Total resistance of series connection is equal to sum of individual resistances.
For parallel connection, total current in the circuit is the sum of currents in each resistor.
