Undercover boss is an episode featuring Coby Brooks, who is the top leader and Chief
Executive Officer among other characters. The characters consistently portray some conducts
that raises a lot of ethical questions (Alfredo, 2017). For instance Jimbo, the manager is seen
leading his followers to engage in negative behaviors that are not in accordance with the right
ethics and moral guidelines. At one point in the episode, he makes his employees eat beans
without the use of their hands. He does this act and argues it is like a competition who will leave
work early to their homes. This point shows vividly how Jimbo violated ethics of care. Letting
the employees feed on beans without the use of hands clearly shows lack of manners in ethics
since the workers had to bend and eat in an uncomfortable ways.
Mercee is another main character in the “Undercover Boss.” Unlike most of the
employees, Marcee seems to be competent and puts more effort at work bearing in mind that she
have to balance between life at home and at the workplace (Alfredo, 2017). Marcee prioritizes
the welfare of all the employees by ensuring all the equipment and tools are well kept and stored.
She welcomes the workers well and allows them to access the well-kept store for gears and other
equipment. This shows a point where ethics of care was followed because the employees and the
top management feels that their needs are well cared whenever they need equipment and tools
for work. Marcee attributes continuously impress everyone to an extent where the manager
decides to offer a paid vacation to the employee. Most of the analysis suggest that Marcee did
meticulous job and advocate that she needed more than just a vacation.
Colby is the Hooters top leader who does not seem to undertake his roles as expected.
The episode present a number of instances where Colby perpetuate a hostile working
environment. The character does not show respect or regard for women (Alfredo, 2017). At one
