The extent to which these thinkers shared their ideological principles and philosophers is
reflected in the commonality of the doctrines and religious practices that were established after
them. According to Strayer & Nelson (2016), Confucianism that guided the behavior of the
people of Ancient China is based on the belief system that adherence to moral values is the
panacea for national unity. Similarly, the followers of the ideas established by Siddhartha
consider the viewpoint of Confucius as the solution to human suffering (p.131). Finally, the
geographical location of these thinkers impacted their perspective of human existence due to the
practices and traditions that were dominant in them. For example, Zoroastrianism and
Christianity created their ideas from the religious doctrines of the existence of a higher being.

I agree with your viewpoint that the geographical locations of the various thinkers played
a significant role in the formulation of the principles and values that were promoted by them. As
you noted, the culture of the Chinese people that was characterized by an emphasis on the family
must have influenced the belief system used by Confucius. Interestingly, it is the same approach
used by the prominent Greek philosophers that laid the foundation for critical thinking models
that are used in different human disciplines today.
