According to Jeff Housenbold, the Shutterfly CEO, success is a way in which an individual
figure out what he is good at, identify a strategic position of earning money and then
concentrates on what he does. Housenbold definition is clearly related to strategic
management. The relationship between Strategic management and his definition is that
strategic management involves with setting objectives, analyzing the working environment
both internally and externally as according to his success definition which he says that,
"figure out what you're good at, figure out where you can make money, and focus".
In comparing Housenbold's definition of success and its relationship with Strategic
management, both of them are involved in the evaluation, formulation, and assessment of the
environment. As success is to figure out where you can make money also strategic
management involves the assessment of both internal and external environment in which an
organization competes. Strategic management ensures that strategies established in an
organization establish a direction the business will follow and set a focused effort similarly to
Housenbold's definition hence indicating a relation between the two.

Porter's Five Forces model identifies and evaluates competitive forces that nurture different
industries. Organizations benefit from the Five Forces model since it helps them find out their
strengths and weaknesses. The Five Forces model is illustrated in the figure below.
I. Competition in the Industry

company competes offers low customer service and products according to the Shutterfly
