Abstract:
This experiment is about testing the tension of a material using the Universal testing machine
(UTM). It is very important to know the properties of a material before it is put to use in our
daily life. These materials are required in the industries in lifting objects and transporting them.
This makes it necessary to determine of a material is strong enough to sustain some kind of
weight. A lot of machines are manufactured to perform some certain work. It is also important to
know which material is suitable in making a certain machine according to its function. The
material properties that are under investigation in this experiment are the tensile strength, Yield
strength and etc.
