THE US COURT SYSTEM 2
Question #1
Removal of Judges Based on Their Decisions
Judges are among the group of people who have a high authority in the judicial system.
The way that these judges conduct themselves influences actions undertaken by the legal system
as a whole. In every field of study, professionals are guided by a code of conduct which must be
applied in the workplace. These code of behaviors, ethics and personal attributes is what dictates
how a person behaves in their workplace. If a judge is found guilty of not being fair in their daily
activities or with misconduct in their work, then the decisions they have made can lead them to
be removed from the list of judges (Neubauer et al 2015). In the United States, the House of
Representatives is expected to file an impeachment against the judge who has been found with
such allegations and trial by the Senate is conducted by the judge.
Judges who are found guilty of misconduct or unfair dealings by the Senate suffers an
immediate removal. However, during the impeachment period, the judges are allowed a chance
to prove the reason for taking the particular actions they are accused of. Both the Senate and the
House of Commons should agree in favor of dismissing the judge in case of misconduct or the
health status that cannot allow them to sit on that bench. Gonzalo Curiel is the judge who was
presiding the trial on civil fraud lawsuit against Trump University. The decision the judge made
was however not well received by president Trump, and he stated the judge as being a hater and
a total disgrace.
Also, Trump said that Curiel made that decision because he is a Mexican and that his
government is planning to build a 2,000 miles wall to prevent Immigrants from Mexico from
entering US. Every citizen has a right to speech which should not be denied from them.
