Intermodal Services Offered at BNSF Railway
BNSF Railway is among the leading freight transportation corporations in the United
States that serve on 32,500 route miles in the United States. In addition to the United States, the
BNSF railways also serve three Canadian provinces. This transportation company offers a range
of intermodal services that connects two or more regions. The corporation provides two key
intermodal service options; standard and expedited. The latter service averages approximately
800 miles per day whereas the former averages approximately 600 miles per day. BNSF also

Texas. BNSF Railway provides intermodal services between Portland/Seattle and Fort

Green Logistics

environment. The primary goal of Green logistics is to organize the actions within the supply
chain in a manner that recipient needs are attained at minimum cost to the environment. There
are several approaches that companies can utilize to reduce carbon emissions. One of the
approaches to reduce carbon emissions is by using cleaner energy and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Switching to rail transport from road transport also significantly reduces carbon emissions.
Another logistics strategies used to reduce carbon emissions is by using heavy-duty
vehicles that use natural gas. Furthermore, the adoption of further modal alterations and reducing
wastes from logistic materials also considerably reduces the emissions of carbon. Companies
reduce carbon emissions by adopting carbon management approaches for logistics. These
approaches entail assessing and reporting carbon imprint and setting a target for carbon
reductions.

Walmart’s inventory management is among the largest backers to the company’s success
and growth in the retail industry. Since the company is among the largest retail corporations in
the world, efficient and resourceful inventory management is paramount. The company adopts
